Club History

Dartford YMCA Football Club was reformed at the beginning of 2004, coaching was offered to kids of all abilities, size and gender. Following this, in the summer of 2004, we applied to join the Gravesend Boys and Primary Football League. Playing fixtures at Knockhall Park and Dartford Park - we submitted teams at under 9's, 10's, 11's, and 12's.

During a tough baptism, the players showed courage and determination thoughout. The highlight of the season being the under 11's being selected to play in the charity cup against Anchorians. This was to be a special day, made so by the fact that the match was played at Millwall's new Den, and this more than made up for the fact that we did not come home with the cup.

As the club grew, we entered the league with a further two teams for 2005/06 giving us teams at 7's, 8's, 10's, 11's, 12's and 13's and we saw a vast improvement at all levels.

We strive to make footballers better by maintaining the fun element and while the club grows rapidly this policy still remains. We will enter the new season with nine teams, with the under 15's entering Bexley & District Junior Football League for the first time. We now play all our home fixtures together at our home ground at Temple Hill School in Dartford and look to make new history in the coming season.
